European Journal of Neuroscience (EJN) is the official Journal of FENS. As a Society-owned journal, the main mission of EJN is to support FENS activities through the publication of high-quality research that cuts across a broad range of basic and clinical neuroscience disciplines. In this presentation, Yoland Smith, a co-Editor-in-Chief of EJN, will discuss the handling and review process of manuscript submitted for publication to EJN an provide tips to prepare rigorous and impactful research reports and reviews for publication in this journal. He will highlight the importance of using adequate analyses and graphical representations of data and talk about efforts made by EJN to assure open science, data sharing and reproducibility. He will also briefly discuss how to become an effective reviewer for manuscripts submitted for publication to EJN and why being a conscientious reviewer is the key to assure ethically rigorous peer-review of the published literature.  Finally, he will discuss efforts made by the EJN team to assure diversity, equity and inclusion in the review process of submitted manuscripts
