Chania – Rethymnon – Arkadi Monastery Tour

This trip begins with a visit to the Arkadi Monastery, a national monument of Crete. During the 1866 revolution, nearly 1,000 Cretans sought refuge here before making a tragic last stand against Turkish forces. Explore the monastery grounds, including the historic powder magazine, and visit the museum displaying artifacts from that fateful day.
Next stop is Chania, Crete’s former capital, where Venetian and Turkish influences are still visible in its old town, fortifications, and iconic Venetian harbor. A must-see is the covered market (built in 1911) that offers a taste of local life.
On our way back, we visit Rethymnon, Crete’s third-largest city, where the old town’s Venetian and Turkish architecture, picturesque harbor, and the Fortezza castle provide a glimpse into the island’s rich history.
